A new report from the Federal Trade Commission reveals that Americans have lost more than $77 million in coronavirus related fraud.
Here’s another “business” struggling because of the coronavirus pandemic: kids’ lemonade stands.
According to lemonade brand Country Time, the popular summertime fixtures in neighborhoods across the nation are closed “due to social distancing guidelines.”
So, Country Time has launched the “Littlest Bailout Relief Fund” to help put a “little juice back into the economy.”
The brand owned by Kraft Heinz announced in a news release that it will send stimulus checks to kids who can’t operate their lemonade stands this summer.
Through Aug. 12, parents of children 14 years or younger can apply for a chance to win $100 in the form of Visa gift cards and a commemorative check at www.countrytimebailout.com.
Back-to-school tax holidays: Tax-free shopping comes to 16 states this summer. Here’s who is giving a tax break.
According to the official contest rules, there’s a limit of one entry per household and 1,000 winners will be selected at random.
The company also had a “Legal-Ade” promotion in 2018 to help kids across the country pay permit fees and fines on their lemonade stands due to outdated permit laws, which it says prompted legislation in several states to legalize lemonade stands by excluding them from businesses that need a permit to operate.
“This year, Country Time will continue helping kids and their lemonade stands to ensure even the smallest of businesses can keep their entrepreneurial dreams alive,” the company said in its release. “So, when life gives you social distancing, make lemonade.”
